Bequest Language

The following examples illustrate suitable language and ways of including DTS and other charities in your will and other documents. The provisions for charitable gifts should comply with state law, be appropriate for the donor's circumstances, and be integrated with the other testamentary provisions.

Unrestricted General Bequest
I give to Dallas Theological Seminary, located in Dallas, Texas, the sum of _____________ dollars ($ ________) for its general purposes.

Restricted Bequest
I give to Dallas Theological Seminary, located in Dallas, Texas, the sum of dollars, _______________dollars ($______________) for the purpose of _____________________________.

Unrestricted Specific Property Bequest

Restricted Specific Property Bequest

Gift of Residuary Estate
I give the residue of the property owned by me at my death, both real and personal wherever situated, to Dallas Theological Seminary, located in Dallas, Texas, for its general purposes.

Contingent Gift of Residuary Estate
I give the residue of the property owned by me at my death, both real and personal wherever situated, to my spouse ____________________________, if he/she survives me.
